Michelle da Silva is a writer, editor and journalist based in Toronto, Canada.
I am the Online and Social Media Manager at NOW Magazine, Canada's largest independent weekly. I tell stories about community and culture, with a particular interest in millennials, race, gender, mental health, DIY spaces and tech.
I have been a finalist for the National Magazine Awards and Digital Publishing Awards, and in 2017, I won a Next Generation/Diversity Scholarship from the Association of Alternative Newsmedia.
Outside of NOW, I am a freelance food and lifestyle writer with bylines in House & Home, Food Network Canada, DesignLines, NUVO, MONTECRISTO, and BC Living.
Prior to moving to Toronto, I worked at Vancouver’s Georgia Straight where I wrote food, lifestyle and entertainment stories and created a weekly cooking column. In 2014, my work was recognized with a scholarship from Les Dames d'Escoffier.
